    François-Casimir Dudevant est un officiermilitaire et avocat à la cour royalefrançais né le 5 juin 1795 à Guillery (Pompiey) et mort le 8 mars 1871 à Barbaste[1],[2]. Il est le fils du baronJean-François Dudevant (1754-1826) et d'Augustine Soulé[3]. Il épouse Aurore Dupin (plus connue sous le nom de George Sand) en 1822[4].

    Le 17 septembre 1822, Dudevant épouse Amandine Dupin, plus tard connue sous le nom George Sand[5]. Le couple emménage à Nohant la même année[6],[7]. Avant leur séparation en 1830, ils ont deux enfants : Maurice (1823-1889) et Solange (1828-1899), qui épouse l'artiste Auguste Clésinger en 1847. Le couple se sépare administrativement le 16 février 1836[8].

    Il meurt le 8 mars 1871 à Barbaste des suites d'une maladie[9].
