Wentworth Earl Miller III was born in 1972 in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire to American parents.[1][2] He has two sisters, Leigh and Gillian.[3]
His father, a Rhodes Scholar, had been studying in Britain at the time of Wentworth's birth, but the family relocated to Brooklyn, New York soon when Wentworth was a year old.[4]
Wentworth is biracial; his father is of African-American, Jamaican, German and English descent, and his mother of Russian, Dutch, French, Syrian and Lebanese descent.[5] Wentworth has described being of mixed race like existing "between two communities".[6]
