Cynthia Cosme Cravo, 47, a solicitor from Santos Brazil moved to Dublin in 2016 to improve her English. It was in Ireland that she met the love of her life Fabio and embarked on their beautiful journey together. However, another challenging journey lay ahead for them. A journey that started with Cynthia finding a lump in her breast in 2019.
This is Cynthia’s story.
I came to Ireland in 2016 to improve my English. After I hit 40, in 2017 I met the love of my life Fabio who was an Italian who had made Ireland his home too. Fabio and I knew we wanted to start a family early into our relationship, and it was while on this journey that I discovered I had breast cancer. In December 2018 I miscarried and just a few months later in February 2019 I discovered a lump in my breast while showering. Immediately I went to my GP who made a referral to the Breast Clinic in St James Hospital. I waited almost 2 months for the appointment but at my appointment they did scans and a biopsy. I was told that the characteristics of the lump were suspicious. When I left the hospital that day, I knew it was cancer.
The confirmation came later with the result of the biopsy. I had surgery to remove the lump and lymph nodes. The cancer type was extremely sensitive to hormones. So, the good news

Live Read
Live Read is a monthly live staged reading of a film script and a part of the Film Independent at LACMA film series at the Bing Theater directed by Jason Reitman and hosted by Elvis Mitchell from 2011 to 2016. In 2019, Film Independent brought the series back as part of Film Independent Presents... at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, produced by director of programming and events, Rachel Bleemer. A guest director reads the stage directions in the scripts while images from the film would be projected behind the cast. The script is typically announced days before the event and while some actors were announced beforehand, full cast lists and the role each actor would play were kept secret until the event itself. The actors do not rehearse ahead of time.
The readings are one-night-only and are not recorded due to rights issues. Because of this, tickets for the 500 seats, go on pre-sale to members of Film Independent one week ahead of the general public, and sell out almost immediately.
The series is to show audiences how actors create characters.[1][2]
