Gugun Blues Shelter
Gugun was born and raised in Duri on November 22nd, 1975 with the name Muhammad Gunawan. Growing up in a family that loves listening to music. He was introduced to guitar at the age of 6 and started studying music when he was still in elementary school. In 1994, after graduating from high school, Gugun wanted to continue his musical career in Jakarta and started as a professional musician in 1996. His career journey began at cafe and club performances as well as several music festivals in Jakarta. In 2001 Gugun released a project album called "DeGun project" (alfa records). Over time in 2004 Gugun formed a group called Gugun and The Blues Bug and later changed its name to Gugun Blues Shelter in 2008 until now. Gugun Blues Shelter have performed in almost all big cities in Indonesia and even overseas such as England, Ireland, the Netherlands, America, Shanghai (China), Singapore and Malaysia. Gugun Blues Shelter has released 11 albums (2005-2023) in total with 3 albums released in America.
Gugun himself is the leader who develops and writes most of the music and songs, and in his performances and recordings he is often assisted by many session players such as Bowie (drums), Fajar Adinugroho (bass). Currently assisted by Refki Nanda
